Canada Day in Abbotsford ;)

Canada Day!!!!

We love it!

I'm not pulling your leg when I say that we love Canada Day!

After a breakfast of Beaver's Tails
http://www.razzledazzlerecipes.com/canada/beaver-tails.htm , orange juice and tea, we headed out at the crack of 2pm to join in the Abbotsford festivities.

The slippery cardboard down the hill ride!

Ride it, Ducky!

Followed by a LOT of sand to move. We played cement factory, and construction site, for a change ;)

Next! The slippery water and soap slide!

We did this one a LOT! Ewan was quite shivery afterwards!

We really really really like meeting some real firemen! We even got to dress up and do a fire saver relay! Ewan was a bit concerned at first, but since I was going with him, he decided that he'd give it a whirl.

We got to roll on the ground, do some chopping, pull a hose up to ourselves and put out a pretend fire (but with real water!).
The final stage was to crawl through the blanket. Ewan would have kicked butt, except he needed to go back and put the fire out again!

Next, sitting in the real fire truck! And finding out that firemen sometimes get to use chain saws!

Cool!

Chris posed beside the firetruck. Ewan wouldn't after he found out that the shapes beside the licence plate are where the really loud horn noises come from. He wouldn't even go CLOSE to the firetruck after that!

We saw a dairy demonstration...
And watched the baby calf take her bottle.

Bouncy ball games :)

Riding on the tractor!

Dancing in the hay!

King of the Hay bails!

Ewan had a late nap, and was able to stay awake to watch his first ever fireworks show. He liked it a lot, however, he did use his "ear muffs" (hearing protection).
