September - The Harvest

So, after 2 years of nuturing, our "pigweed" is finally ready for harvest. It came to us by chance, but Ewan soon fell in love with it's large, soft, furry leaves, and begged us not to kill it with the lawn mower or weed wacker.

But now, it has finished blooming, grown taller than the garage, and started to "list" - so time to chop that baby down!

Chris instructs Ewan on the fine art of pigweed harvest - using an ice axe we found in Manning Park last winter.

It's sooooooooo exciting!

And she's DOWN! Ewan did most of the wacking :)

Tah-Day! Success! Our little farmer :)
